Congrats Liz, we're proud of you!!
Liz Carlson represented Fremont well with a strong showing at the State Finals on Friday at the Legends of Indiana. Liz carded an 80, which was good enough for 19th overall individually. Unfortunately, it would have taken a 77 to make it to the second day. It was a fun time and Liz gained an enormous amount of experience. Great job Liz.

LIZ IS GOING TO STATE!!!
Congratulations to Liz Carlson for qualifying for the State Finals in Franklin, Indiana this upcoming weekend. Her score of 75 earned her a second place finish out of 72 golfers. Katie Sharp was medalist with a five-under par 67. Liz persevered through tough conditions and a rough start to play a very good round of golf. Congratulations Liz on an amazing accomplishment and good luck in the State Finals!!

The Lady Eagles continued their strong play with a fifth place in the Angola Sectional
The Fremont Lady Eagle Golf team continued its surge at the end of the golf season, unfortunately the team's season came to an end on Saturday at Zollner Golf Course. The team shot its best score of the season in an eighteen hole match by shooting a 391. DeKalb won the Sectional with a 327, Angola was second with a 357, Leo also got out of the Sectional with a 368. Liz Carlson qualified for Regionals for the second time in three seasons by shooting an 80. Alivia Behnfeldt shot 102, Haleigh Seidel shot 103, Joy Thompson came through with a 106, and Laura Dennis concluded the scoring with a 113. The fifth place finish showed the team just how far they have come, especially considering they shaved off 92 shots over the course of the season. Good job ladies and good luck Liz.

The Lady Eagles save their best for last
The Lady Eagle golf team saved its best round of the year for the last round in defeating Coldwater on the front nine at Lake James Wednesday by a score of 192 to 205. The team is peaking at just the right time as it had a solid contribution from four of its players. The team was led by Liz Carlson and Alivia Behnfeldt who each shot 45. Laura Dennis shot 50 and Haleigh Seidel rounded out the scoring with a 52. Amanda Sowdey was medalist with a 43. The win capped a late-season push to put the team at 3-8.
The team will compete in the Sectionals at Zollner on Saturday.

The Lady Eagles pick up their second win on the year
The Varsity Eagle golf team picked up their second win of the season on Monday night at Lake James Golf Club by defeating the Prairie Heights Panthers by a score of 206 to 221. The win puts the team's record at 2-8 on the season, however they are 2-2 in the NECC The team was led by Liz Carlson's 46, which was good enough for medalist honors. Alivia Behnfeldt shot 50, Haleigh Seidel played well and shot 53, Laura Dennis shot 57, and finally Joy Thompson finished up the scoring with a 59. Good job ladies.

Lady Eagle golf finished 3rd at the NECC Tourney
The Lady Eagle golf team finished about where they expected to at the 2010 NECC Tournament on Saturday. The team shot 425, Angola won the tournament with a 379 while Fairfield finished second with a 385. The team was led by Liz Carlson, who won her second straight NECC Tournament Championship by shooting a 77. Alivia Behnfeldt shot a 108, Laura Dennis shot 118, Haleigh Seidel shot 122, and finally Joy Thompson shot a 123. Great job Liz and good effort ladies.

Fremont loses to Wawasee and Mishawaka Marian
The Lady Eagles lost two against Wawasee and Mishawaka Marian on the front nine of the Maxwelton Golf Club in Syracuse, Indiana on Thursday night. Wawasee won its 20th match of the season by shooting 171, Mishawaka Marian shot 200, and finally Fremont shot a 203. The losses put the Eagles record at 1-8 on the season. The team was led by Liz Carlson who shot 43, Laura Dennis shot 52, Joy Thompson and Alivia Behnfeldt shot 54's, Haleigh Seidel shot 55, and finally Jessica Mofield shot a 59.

Fremont Girls Golf Improves in home loss
The Lady Eagle Golf team improved on Tuesday in spite of a loss to undefeated Leo by a score of 203 to 195. The girls had to deal with plenty of wind and plenty of green speed in a loss that drops the team's record to 1-6. The team was led by Liz Carlson who shot 42 to take medalist honors. Alivia Behnfeldt shot a season-best 47 on Lake James front nine, and finally Laura Dennis is coming on late with a 54. The team is back in action on Thursday in a match against state-ranked Wawassee and Mishawaka Marian. Good job Eagles and good luck.

The Fremont Lady Eagles lost at home on Wednesday to Snider on the front nine at Lake James by a score of 214 to 205. The loss pushed the Eagles record to 1-5. The team was led by Liz Carlson's 46, Alivia Behnfeldt shot 53, Joy Thompson shot 54, Laura Dennis and Jessica Mofield each shot 61, and Haleigh Seidel finished up with a 62.

The Lady Eagles play outstanding golf in its first win of the season
The Fremont Lady Eagles played their best golf of the season in its first win of the season against West Noble on the front nine of South Shore Golf Club Tuesday night. The team won the match against West Noble by a score of 188 to 226. The win puts the Eagles at 1-4 overall and 1-2 in the NECC. Liz Carlson led the Eagles with an even par 36, Alivia Behnfeldt had her best round of the year with a 45, Joy Thompson shot 49, and Jessica Mofield had a career-best 49 while playing for the junior varsity. Great job ladies!!

Fremont loses to Angola, but shows improvement
The Lady Eagle golf team shot a decent score on the back nine at Lake James in shooting a 211. The team improved by seven shots in four days. However, it was not enough as the Lady Hornets defeated Fremont by sixteen shots. Anna Hartsuff of Angola was the medalist by shooting a 43. Liz Carlson led the Eagles in shooting a 46, Joy Thompson shot a good score of 54, Alivia Behnfeldt had a 55, Laura Dennis made a nice comeback with a 56, Haleigh Seidel had a 59, and finally Jessica Mofield shot a 64. The loss put the Eagles at 0-4 on the year, 0-2 in the NECC.

Fremont finishes tenth at New Haven Invite
The Fremont Lady Eagle golf team played better in their fourth invitational of the year by shooting a 408. The team had an outstanding contribution from Liz Carlson, who shot a 37 on the tough back nine at Whispering Creek Golf Club in New Haven. The team also had consistency with some solid scores by Haleigh Seidel, Joy Thompson, and Alivia Behnfeldt. Liz led the team with an 81, Alivia shot 107, Joy and Haleigh each shot 110, and Jessica Mofield overcame a 24 on the first two holes to shoot a 123. The tournament was won by Yorktown, which shot 332, Leo was second and Snider came in a solid third.
The girls are continuing to improve and are very close to breaking through with a big WIN. Speaking of which, the team is back in action on Monday night against Angola on the back nine of Lake James.

The Lady Eagles drop two at home against Fairfield and Elkhart Memorial
The Fremont Lady Eagles struggled on Thursday night on the back nine of Lake James against two pretty good teams. The team couldn't get anything going as they struggled to a season-worst nine hole score of 218. Fairfield shot a 188, while Elkhart Memorial shot a 198. The team was led by Liz Carlson's 43, Alivia Behnfeldt shot a 55, Joy Thompson and Haleigh Seidel each shot 60's, Jessica Mofield had a good score of 63, and Laura Dennis rounded out the scoring with a 68. The losses put the team's record at 0-3 overall and 0-1 in the NECC.
The team will be back in action early Saturday morning at Whispering Creek Golf Course in New Haven at 7:30 a.m.

The Bulldog Invitational has been moved from McMillen Park Golf Course in Fort Wayne to Whispering Creek Golf Course in New Haven. The time was also changed to a 7:30 a.m. shotgun start as opposed to a 9:00 a.m. start.

The Lady Eagles finish 4th at Elkhart Memorial Invite
The Fremont Lady Eagle golf team competed very well at the first annual Elkhart Memorial Chargers Invitational on Monday afternoon at the par 72 Christiana Creek Country Club. The team finished fourth with a season-best score of 410. Mishawaka Penn won the event with a 336. Liz Carlson led the team with a good score of 78, Alivia Behnfeldt shot a season-best 106 on 18 holes as did Joy Thompson, who shot 110, Haleigh Seidel shot a 115, and finally Laura Dennis shot a 122. The team is back in action on Thursday when the team hosts Fairfield and Elkhart Memorial on the back nine of Lake James. Good job ladies!!

Fremont finishes ninth at the Fall Classic
The varsity Eagle Golf team had an up and down day at its own Fall Classic on Thursday to finish ninth place with a score of 422. The loaded line-up of teams was headlined by Wawasee, which shot 359 to win the tournament. South Bend St. Joe was second with a 366 and Fairfield shot a 369 to finish in third place. The Fremont Eagles were led by Liz Carlson, who shot a career-best 77, good enough to be the 18-hole record in Fremont's fourteen year history of girls golf. Alivia Behnfeldt competed in her second eighteen hole tournament and had a 109, Laura Dennis shot 117, Haleigh Seidel, competing in her first eighteen hole tournament shot a 119, and finally Joy Thompson shot 120. Jessica Mofield competed as an individual and shot a 126.
The team improved a lot over the past week by cutting 61 shots off their first score at the Leo Lions Invitational last Thursday.

The Lady Eagles improve despite losing to Fairfield 170 to 200
The Lady Eagle golf team has come a long way in just a few short days. The team improved on its opening match where the team had splits of 245 and 238 to shoot a 200 on the front nine at Timber Ridge in Millersburg. Coach Arndt was really happy with the top two players (Liz and Alivia) who shot 40 and 49 respectively. The team also picked up a solid contribution by Haleigh Seidel playing in her first match as a varsity member and shooting 55. Joy Thompson and Jessica Mofield each chipped in with 56's and finally Laura Dennis had a 63 to close out the scoring. The loss dropped the Eagles to 0-1 overall and 0-1 in the NECC. Good job ladies and keep up the good work.

Lady Eagle golf finishes 7th at the Leo Invite
The Lady Eagle Golf Team struggled in its first 18 hole match of the season at the soggy Cedar Creek Golf Club on Thursday morning. The team finished seventh with a score of 483. Hamilton Southeastern won the event with a 361. Leading the way for the girls was Liz Carlson with a 91, Alivia Behnfeldt made her varsity debut with a 114, Joy Thompson shot a 138, Laura Dennis fired a 140, and finally Jessica Mofield, who was also making her varsity debut shot a 153.
The Eagles are now fully aware of the work they have ahead, and also understand that practice is what will get them there.

2010 Fremont Eagle Girls Golf Season Outlook
The Lady Eagle Golf Team 2o1o season is now underway and so far so good. The team has two newcomers that are looking to replace the outgoing seniors from a year ago. Leading the way for the team are its three juniors: Liz Carlson, Laura Dennis, and Joy Thompson. The team has two sophomores in Jessica Mofield and Haleigh Seidel. Finally, the team has one talented freshman in Alivia Behnfeldt.
The team will find out where it stands when it competes at the Leo Lions Lady Invitational on Thursday, August 5th at Cedar Creek Golf Club. The tournament is a fundraiser for the Susan G. Komen Foundation for cancer research.

Nick shoots 83 in the Homestead Regional
Nick Herndon competed in the Homestead Regional on Thursday at Orchard Ridge Country Club. His score of 83 was not good enough as it took a really good number to get out on the beautiful sunny day. Although Nick's season ended on Thursday, the experience will prove valuable for him as he continues his career in golf at Fremont.

2010 Sectional Golf Results
The Varsity Eagle golf team competed well at the 2010 East Noble Golf Sectional. However, the team fell short of its goal of making it to next week's Homestead Golf Regional. The team finished fifth with a 329, losing to Leo on a fifth man tie-break. Homestead won the event with an even-par 284, Carroll also made it to next week's regional with a 304, and DeKalb got out with a 317. The team does have something to celebrate, however, with Nick Herndon's 78, which was good enough to qualify for next week's Homestead Regional. Seth Robertson just missed going to regional's with a 79, which ended a brilliant career by senior golfer. Austin Corcimiglia shot 85, Tyler Jenkins shot 87, and finally, Brandin Ross shot 102 to complete the team's scoring.
Good job Eagles, and work hard this summer.

The Fremont Eagle Golf team takes home a split on Senior Night
The varsity Eagle golf team split with two big schools on Tuesday night on the front nine at Lake James. The team shot a 166 to lose to DeKalb by two shots, however, the team defeated Northrop by six. The team was led by Nick Herndon who shot a school-record on the front nine at Lake James with a 32. Seth Robertson shot 43, Austin Corcimiglia shot 45, Tyler Jenkins shot 46, Brandin Ross shot 51, and Phil Keating rounded out the scoring with a 54. The night was in honor of the two seniors who gave a lot to the program this year. Unfortunately, the team only had Phil for one year, but he will still be missed. The golf program sadly saw the end of a career by one of its best ever in Seth Robertson. Seth was a great golfer for four years and it is sad to see him go, but he is on to bigger and better things like Huntington University. The split put the Eagles record at 13-6, while that may seem mediocre, the team was a sizzling 8-2 in the month of May. The team will be back in action on Friday at the state tournament at Noble Hawk sectional. Good job Eagles and good luck.

Fremont takes down Lakewood Park to push its record to 12-5
The varsity Eagle golf team played on one of the toughest tracks in the state last night in playing the back nine at Lake James. The team shot a 170 to Lakewood Park's 201. The team was led by Seth Robertson's 39, Austin Corcimiglia shot well with a 41, Nick Herndon shot a 44, Tyler Jenkins persevered very well in overcoming an 8 on a hole to shoot 46. Brandin Ross and Phil Keating rounded out the scoring with 53's. The win pushed the Eagles record to 12-5. Good job Eagles.

The Varsity Eagle golf team picked up a couple of wins in beating Eastside and Hamilton in a three-way scramble golf match on the front nine of Lake James. The team was led by the duo of Seth Robertson and Phil Keating who shot 32, the freshmen duo of Tyler Jenkins and Austin Corcimiglia shot 34, and Brandin Ross and Nick Herndon shot 35. The Eagles team shot 101 to Eastside's 118, and Hamilton's 123. Great job Eagles.

Fremont finished Fourth at the NECC Tourney
The Eagle golf team had a tough day on Saturday at the soggy Noble Hawk Golf Links. The team finished right where it did for the regular season at fourth place out of eleven teams. The team shot 339, which is its third best score for 18 holes on the season. Seth Robertson and Nick Herndon each shot well enough to make All-Conference. Seth became a four-time NECC All-Conference player by shooting 76, while Nick made the team for the second year in a row by shooting 80. Austin Corcimiglia made the Honorable Mention All-Conference team with an 87, Brandin Ross shot 97, and Tyler Jenkins rounded out the scoring with a 97. The team is back in action on Tuesday night with a match against Hamilton and Eastside.

Fremont takes 2nd place at the Angola Invite
The Varsity Eagle golf team is playing some great golf right now. The team continued its exceptional week of play with a 319 at the Angola Invitational on the Zollner Golf Course at Trine University. The team got a great round from its senior Seth Robertson, who tied for medalist honors with a 73. Tyler Jenkins shot his best 18 hole round of his career with a 77, Nick Herndon battled to a 84, Austin Corcimiglia also hung in there to shoot an 85, and Brandin Ross ended out the scoring with a 97. The team lost to DeKalb by nine shots, but defeated Lakeland by seven shots, which the Eagles will see in the near future. The team is back in action next Saturday at the NECC Tournament on Noble Hawk Golf Links.

The Fremont Eagle Golf Team just missed taking down #20 Prairie Heights
The Fremont Eagle golf team took home a split on Friday night on the front nine at Lake James Golf Club. The team beat Churubusco by a score of 167 to 207 to conclude its NECC regular season record at 7-3. The team gave the twentieth ranked team in the state a great run in leading them through their top three players. Unfortunately, the team had a tough last couple scores to come up short of the upset. However, the team completed a great week of matches with a 3-1 record and a realization that we CAN be really good. The team was led once again by Nick Herndon, who shot 38 which was good enough to tie Casey Anderson for medalist honors, Seth Robertson shot 39, Austin Corcimiglia shot 40, Tyler Jenkins and Brandin Ross rounded out the scoring with a 50 and 52 respectively. The team's overall record now stands at 9-5.
The JV team also split tonight by losing to Prairie Heights by a score of 195 to 221. The team defeated Busco by forfeit. The split put the JV record at 9-6 overall and 6-4 in the NECC. The Fremont Eagle golf team traveled to Cherry Hill Golf Club on Thursday night to take on the Blackhawk Christian Braves. The team played a good enough match to win against the Braves by a score of 166 to 169. The win pushes the team's record to 8-4 overall, 6-3 in the NECC. Nick Herndon led the Eagles with a 39 which was good enough for medalist honors, Seth Robertson and Tyler Jenkins each shot 41, Austin Corcimiglia contributed a 45, Brandin Ross shot 47, and Colt Penner shot 56 in his first varsity action. Good job Eagles.

The Fremont Eagle golf team picked a great night to have its best nine hole score of the season on the back nine of Zollner golf course to beat Angola by a score of 164 to 168. The team had a whole team effort in shooting a great round in tough conditions. The team was led by Seth Robertson's 38, which was good enough for a tie for medalist with James Clary of Angola. Nick Herndon battled to shoot a 41, Tyler Jenkins shot an awesome 42, Brandin Ross came through with a 43, and finally Austin Corcimiglia finished out with a 48. The win ups the Eagles record to 7-4 overall and 6-3 in the NECC. Great Job Eagles!!

The junior varsity golf team played ok in its home invitational on Saturday at Lake James Golf Course. The team finished in the middle of the pack with a 6th place. The team shot an even 400. The team was led by Colt Penner's 93, Zack Trombley shot 99, Jordon Schmucker shot 103, Lucas Baxla shot 105, and finally Ryan Lehnertz finished up the scoring with a 126. The Fremont Eagle varsity golf team had an up and down Saturday in its round at the Brookwood Country Club during the Canterbury Invitational. The team, which underwent some line-up changes, had a great start on Saturday, but ended in a tough way on the back nine. The team shot a 349 to place them at seventh place out of 12 teams. The Varsity Eagle golf team had an excellent opportunity to defeat one of the state's best on Thursday night, but wasn't able to get it done. The team picked a bad day to play it's worst round of the season on the windy front nine at Lake James. The team was led by Seth Robertson who shot a 41, Austin Corcimiglia had a 44, Nick Herndon shot a 45, Brandin Ross chipped in a 47, and Tyler Jenkins rounded out the scoring with a 53. The team lost to Prairie Heights by a score of 169 to 177. The team defeated Garrett by a score of 177 to 200. The split puts the team's record at 5-4 overall and 4-3 in the NECC. The medalist of the match was Matt Schultz with a 37.

The Varsity Eagle golf team one won and lost one on Tuesday night on the front nine at Heron Creek Golf Club. The par 36 track proved to be a difficult one for the team as it shot a 174 fresh off its invitational win on Saturday. Lakeland defeated the Eagles with a score of 158, while Central Noble shot a 214. Leading Fremont was Seth Robertson with a 39, Nick Herndon shot 44, Austin Corcimiglia shot a 45, Brandin Ross shot 46, and finally Tyler Jenkins rounded out the scoring with a 47. Lakeland's Cody Richardson was medalist with a 37. The split puts the Eagles record at 4-3 overall and 4-2 in the NECC.

The Fremont Eagle Golf Team takes the South Adams Invitational Championship
The Varsity Eagle golf team picked a good day to play its best round of the season in shooting a 333. The score was good enough to win the South Adams Invitational Championship on the par 71 Limberlost Golf Club. The team picked up the championship by defeating a field of nine teams. Wapahani was second with a 345 and Winchester had a 356. The team was led by Seth Robertson who shot a 71 (39-32 splits), which was good enough for individual medalist and one stroke from tying the all-time 18 hole school record round of 70 set by Chris Tilbury. The Fremont Varsity and JV Golf Teams each take two wins on Tuesday Night!!
The Fremont Eagles golf team defeated Westview by a score of 169 to 175, and Hamilton by a score of 169 to 206. The team played a good match at Heron Creek Golf Club on Tuesday night on the front nine. The team was led by Seth Robertson and Nick Herndon who shot 37 and 39 respectively. Tyler Jenkins shot a 46, Brandin Ross shot a 47, and Austin Corcimiglia shot a 48 to round out the scoring for the Eagles. The wins pushed the Eagles to 3-2 overall, and 3-1 in the NECC. Good Job Eagles!!
The Junior Varsity team also won over the Westview Warriors by a score of 198 to 228. The team defeated the Hamilton Marines by forfeit. The team was led by Sam Beaber and Ryan Lehnertz who each shot 47's. Jordon Schmucker and Lucas Baxla each rebounded with good rounds of 49 and 56 respectively. Lastly, Zack Trombley came through with a 55 to round out the Junior Varsity scoring. The wins put the JV record at 4-2 overall and 3-1 in the NECC. Good Job Eagles!!!

Fremont plays well in a loss to the Northridge Raiders on Monday Night
The Fremont Eagle golf team played one of its best rounds of the season on Monday night at Spring Meadow Farm front nine in shooting a 168 to Northridge's 157. The team had a nice contribution from its top two players in Seth Robertson and Nick Herndon. Seth shot 38 and Nick shot a respectable 41. The team was also helped out by Brandin Ross's 44 and Tyler Jenkins chipped in a 45 to round out the scoring. Seth tied Logan McBride for medalist honors. The loss puts Fremont to 1-2 overall, and remains 1-1 in the NECC. The team will be back in action on Tuesday as it heads to Heron Creek Golf Course to take on Westview and Hamilton. Fairfield bests Fremont on the Back Nine
The Fremont Eagle Golf Team won one and lost one on Thursday night on the back nine of Lake James Golf Club. The Eagles defeated Eastside by a score of 176 to 216, while at the same time suffering a deafeat at the hands of Fairfield by a score of 164-176. The contest put the Eagles at 1-1 overall and 1-1 in the NECC. The team was led by Seth Robertson with a 40, Austin Corcimiglia shot well and had a 43, Brandin Ross shot a 46, Nick Herndon shot 47, and finally Tyler Jenkins rounded out the scoring with a 49. The team will learn many valuable lessons from the match and will be better equipped to play throughout the remainder of the season.
The team will travel to the Goshen Invitational on Saturday - Go Eagles!!

Fremont takes down Howe Military in a big way!!
The Fremont Junior Varsity golf team played very well in its dual match opener on Tuesday night. The team shot a 187 to Howe Military's 248 on Lake James' front nine. Joey Kaufman shot well with a 42, Jordon Schmucker shot 43, Brandin Ross shot 47, Lucas Baxla shot 55, Zack Trombley shot 62, and Sam Beaber rounded out the scoring with a 67. The win put the JV record at 1-0.
The following three players competed in an exhibition match: Ryan Lehnertz, Derick Campbell, and Colt Penner. They shot 55, 60, and 79 respectively to round out the scoring for Fremont.

Triton Invitational Results
The Fremont Eagle Golf team traveled to Rozella Ford Golf Course on Saturday to play in the Triton Invitational. The team fared well on the back nine in shooting a 169 as a team, which was 12 shots better than the front nine. The team had high hopes after falling by one and two shots respectively following the last two time they have competed in this particular invitational. The Eagles finished in third place with a 350. Triton won the title with a very good 324, followed by Winamac which shot a respectable 335. Leading Fremont was senior Seth Robertson with a 79, Nick Herndon followed with an 80, Tyler Jenkins opened his high school playing career with a 93, Austin Corcimiglia shot 98, and Brandin Ross shot 105.
The JV team finished 14th out of 18 teams at the LaVille Invitational on Saturday as well. Leading the JV squad was Joey Kaufman with a 92, followed by Jordon Schmucker with a 102, Lucas Baxla shot114, Zack Trombley shot 116, and finally Sam Beaber finished with a 117.

2010 Boys Season Outlook
The 2010 Fremont Eagles Boys' Golf Team has had a very successful preseason, making Head Coach - Andy Arndt and JV Coach - Joel Bledsoe optimistic and excited about the possibilities this season has to offer.
This year's team is comprised of a talented group of golfers. Leading the way is senior, Seth Robertson who has qualified for Regionals twice and is a three time All-NECC Golfer. The other senior planning to make an impact is Phil Keating who is back after taking a three year hiatus from golf. The junior class is made up of All-NECC golfer, Nick Herndon as well as Brandin Ross, Zack Trombley, Ryan Lehnertz, and Derick Campbell. Joey Kaufman will be the only sophomore playing golf this season, but he is determined to crack the top 5. The remainder of the team is made up of six freshmen - Tyler Jenkins, Austin Corcimiglia, Jordon Schmucker, Sam Beaber, Lucas Baxla, and finally Colt Penner.
The Varsity team will be in action on Saturday at the Triton Invitational and the Junior Varsity team will be in action at the LaVille Invitational. GO EAGLES!!
