The Varsity and JV teams each earn a split versus Fairfield and Eastside

The Varsity Eagle Golf Team took on one of the area's best golf teams Thursday night in the Fairfield Falcons. The match was played in fair conditions on the back nine of the West Course, Bridgewater Golf Club. The track was a par 37. The Falcons showed their depth as their fifth man came through with a 40. The Eagles played ok in shooting a 175, but they understand just how much better they can be. Getting there will take hard work and more mental toughness. Fairfield shot 163 to win the match, while Eastside scored a 214. Leading the Eagles were Nick Herndon and Austin Corcimiglia, who each shot 41's. Brandin Ross shot a 45, Tyler Jenkins and Jordon Schmucker each shot 48's to round out the scoring. Brad Shipley and Nate Kropf of Fairfield were match medalists with 40. The split puts the Eagles record at 1-1 overall, 1-1 in the NECC.

The Junior Varsity Golf Team also split Thursday night. The team showed consistency with three players scoring 51's. Colt Penner, Seth Wirick, and Collin Sherburne each shot low for the Eagles. Justin Papenbrock had a 54, while Brody Dunn and Nate Beatty rounded out the scoring with 55's. Fairfield won the junior varsity match with a 187, Eastside shot 259.
